Episode 2: The Gauge Swatch

This is starting from the beginning. The care and feeding of gauge swatches. What to do with them afterwards. How they can rescue you. Also, Knittunes.

Music: Devin Anderson. This is the first movement of a piece called "Music Monster Symphony".

I found him at Podsafe Audio.

If you are looking for an outlet for your superwash gauge swatches, please have a look at Woolwork's charity page.

I love the idea of a podcast that focuses on the math of knitting. I just listened to both episodes and really enjoyed them. I was wondering though, where did you get the magic nbr 8 as the best nbr of decreases for a hat -- was it through trial & error or is it based on some mathmatical formula? I've been making some hats for the Dulaan Project and I've not yet been thoroughly satisfied with my hat tops. I'm going to try 8 decreases per round on the next hat. Thanks for the tip.

I'm looking forward to future episodes. Keep up the great work.

OMG!!! I love your show. I think of my qauge swatches as "knitting insurance". You had some great ideas and tips I would never have thought of. I really like the idea of measuring in cm!!

You have voice that is really easy to listen and I can't wait for sweater shaping. I want to add waist shaping to a pattern so I have pencil, paper and pointy sticks poised.

Thanks for providing a knitting podcast with a new focus. I've been enjoying it. Can you use the gauge swatch for "knitting insurance" even once it's been washed?
