Kitty and Knitting

I keep trying to decide what's best. Whenever I try out a new-to-me heel, I find it SO EXCITING. I want to tell everyone right away!

However, I also like the idea of (maybe) writing another book, which is why I'm hiding the heels on these particular socks.

It has to remain a mystery, for now. Only Travis, Boomer, Dee and muggles have seen them...

Pillow Cat

We put large pillows on our chairs to try to control the "our cats are made of hair which is adorable, but messy" problem. It works pretty well!

Sleepy Boomer

I hope you guys never get tired of photos of Boomer, because I sure never will! He loves to rest like this and purr when I'm lying on the couch, waiting for the coffee to finish brewing in the morning.

Sleepy Kitty

Travis is beautiful but also very anxious, so we all get (quietly) excited when he trusts us enough to sleep out in the open and not under a piece of furniture in the basement.

He wants to sleep on our handknit afghan in the background, but he is NOT. ALLOWED.

The Window Solution

Guest appearance by sleeping Boomer.

Let's say you want to set up a semi-permanent photo studio in your basement that has wonderfully-awesome windows. Now, windows are fantastic in a basement. I love them! But, if you want consistent results on your color balance/light levels, you've got to be able to block out light from said windows. Otherwise, you can only shoot at night, and where's the fun in that?

The solution: big ol' pieces of cardboard, custom-cut (sort of) to block off the windows.

Annoyed by my cardboard cutting, Boomer abandoned me.

Because NOTHING lets the neighbors know that you're normal and everything's fine like covering your windows with cardboard, I left mine removable. I pop them in when I need them and stash them under the futon when I don't need them. Spiderweb removal is a gross, but unavoidable simultaneous task.

Boomer Bear

He's taken to resting his feet and head on my foot when I'm on the couch. So cute!

Paint Me Like One of Your French Girls

Is it too many photos of the cat? (If it's wrong, I don't want to be right!)

Cat In a Box

I know it looks silly, but it's an option that keeps him off my keyboard and my lap!

We Interrupt This Blog to Move My Office

Remember the Basement of Boxes? Well, Dee and I spent a chunk of the last 3 days turning it into my office/studio!

It's not ready for public consumption. At least one more bookshelf is needed for that! But, so far, Boomer approves. The futon under the window makes it a perfect perch.

Home is where the goofy, orange kitty is.

Kitty With Spinning Bag

Please forgive me the gross rag I use to wipe spinning grease off of my wheel. Our little Travis doesn't relax well enough to sleep around us very much. When he does, it's quite an event.
