Commuter Greenway in Minneapolis

If you have a day off, I hope you're enjoying it! I just want to write a short love letter to the Midtown Greenway. I don't commute on my bike as often as I would like, but I know I wouldn't do it at all if it weren't for a fast, safe way to get from A to B. Thank you, greenway!

Biking to Downtown

I still can't believe that this is so close to my house, and all I have to do is take the bike path!

Lake of the Isles

I love it! It's such a pretty place to ride around!

Ed. note - CLEARLY, I didn't take this photo today. Rain, rain, go away, come back in the middle of the night so that I can go on a ride!

Beehive Fireplace

Just a quick jaunt down the bike trail brings me to a small park near Nordic Ware and this strange-looking...thing.

It's a beehive-shaped oven/grill that was originally built in 1939 as part of Lilac Way (Highway 100) in St. Louis Park.

For anyone interested in history or lilacs, it's a must-see!

Construction

One of the things I love about the bike trail is that you, literally, get views of the city you can't get any other way.

I've been admiring this strange-looking configuration of steel over Highway 100 for weeks and weeks - but there's no where you can shoot a photo of it from a car, safely.

On a bike? Easy peasy. It's right on the bike trail!
